4 REASONS TO STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF

People can always sense a copy!

Don’t be a bootleg version of someone else.

I always thought that staying true to one's self was something everyone practiced.

But, unfortunately that's not the case.  In this day and age, especially with social media, some find it tough to not give into the temptation to imitate or blindly copy someone or something else.

I, personally think staying true to yourself is the best thing you can do.  That said, here are 4 reasons to stay true to yourself:

1.  If it's not you, it'll never feel right.

Whether it's a job, an outfit, a friendship, a relationship, or pretty much anything on the planet – if it doesn't feel true to you, then there will always be something wrong with it.

A job, especially, can be such a mentally and emotionally draining thing to do if it's not the right role for you.

Knowing what you believe in, what you value, what your strengths are, and so on will always put you on the right path.  But, in order to get and stay on the right path, you have to be true to yourself.

2.  People can always sense a copy.

Besides having the feeling that something isn't right for you, people can always sense when you're not being true to yourself, as well.

That sucks.  You don't wan to be known for being a bootleg version of someone else, do you?  Nope.  I didn't think so.  At the end of the day, you're only fooling yourself – don't do it.

3.  You'll never make progress.

Whether in your professional or personal life, you'll never make progress if you're not being authentic.  You'll keep tripping over the same stone – unable to move forward.  All this because you're doing something that isn't you.

Something that isn't you – as mentioned in the 1st reason – won't ever feel right.  You’ll find yourself wasting time – and if not careful, your life – editing something that wasn't you to begin with.  What a waste of time!

4.  There will always be someone who dislikes you.

As sad as it sounds, it's true.  You can do everything right and always say the right things, but there will always be someone who doesn't like you for whatever reason.

So, why not stay true to yourself?  If you're going to be disliked, why not be disliked for being your authentic self?  Hey, at least that way one person is happy – the person who matters most: YOU.
